Indian spiritual philosophy is revealed in the world conscious poetry of the poet Gangadhar Meher. There was no difference between the poet's personal life and his life as a poet. His life and literature are identical. Because of this unity, many wise men of that time used to respect the poet. Gangadhar has turned Barpali into a pilgrimage, said the guests who attended the Saraswat Samaroh organized by the Gangadhar Sahitya Parishad at the poet's birthplace Kavibhavan today. Bijepur MLA Sanat Kumar Gadatia attended the program organized on this occasion as the chief guest and discussed the stay of the poet Gangadhar in Bijepur and the unique personality of the poet. Former professors of Gangadhar Meher College Dr. Shirish Chandra Jena and Dr. Ramakant Nayak joined as distinguished speakers and described Gangadhar Fakir Mohan and the Saraswat connection of Barpali and Balasore as deeply emotional. In this meeting, prominent researchers of Meher literature Dr. Kumuda Ranjan Panigrahi and Dr. Ashok Kumar Dash, former professors of Sambalpur University and Dr. Kulamani Behera, former professor of Government College Sundargarh, were presented with the Gangadhar Saraswat Award. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Shri Vinod Meher, and Professor Dr. Shukmuni Meher delivered the welcome speech and introduced the guests. Dr. Chari Meher proposed the vote of thanks. The books 'Gangadhar Sharmika' edited by Dr. Charya Meher, 'Amrit Vinta Gangadhar' written by Professor Dr. Kumud Ranjan Panigrahi and 'Swavaba Kavi Gangadhar Meher' written by Dr. Shukmuni Meher were released in this program. On this occasion, at 8:30 am, floral wreaths were offered to the poet's statue and lamp lighting was done. Bargarh District Magistrate Shri Aditya Goyal along with Barpali Basi visited Kavi Bhavan after offering floral wreaths to the poet's statue and inquired about the construction of Gangadhar Auditorium. Floral wreaths were also offered to the poet's image and statue in Kavi Bhavan. Many prominent people from Barpali, Balasore and Bijepur areas attended the program and paid their heartfelt tributes to the poet.
