Mussoorie to Mandate Online Tourist Registration from July 30; Operators Raise Concerns

From July 30, every tourist staying in Mussoorie will have to be registered online, a step the Tourism Department says will enhance monitoring and ensure visitor safety. Hotels, guesthouses, homestays, and Airbnb operators will be required to log guest details in real time through a government-managed portal.

The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by District Tourism Officer Brijendra Pandey with stakeholders from the local hospitality sector. While authorities maintain that the measure will strengthen oversight, many operators say the system will add to their challenges.
