Paid tribute to Kargil Martyr Joginder Singh Qila Darhal


Qila Darhal. July 25: A heartfelt tribute was paid to the Kargil martyr Joginder Singh of 14-Sikh Regiment at his native village, Qila Darhal, Nowshera, of district Rajouri, today.
The solemn occasion saw the conclusion of the Akhand Path, with Guru Ka Langer being served to honor the memory of the brave soldier. Army officers of 3rd Punjab also joined in paying their respects at the martyr’s memorial. While civil and Army men shouted slogans "Bole Sonihal Satsriakal", Azad Hindustan Jindabaad, Bharat Mata Ki Jai & Indian Army Jindabad.
The village residents proudly recalled three Kargil martyrs from Nowshera sector, namely Gurdeep Singh and Hardeep Singh of 8 Sikh Regiment, and Joginder Singh of 14th Sikh Regiment, all residents of Qila Darhal, Rajouri.
Meanwhile, the villagers expressed displeasure over the Slami team’s alleged failure in reaching at the event to pay their respect to the fallen soldiers.

According to them, only one Army officer, and a few soldiers were present at the memorial to honour the martyr.
Zorawar Singh, social activist & others expressed his anger over the neglect of the Kargil martyr. He questioned the lack of time and effort on the part of army officers to arrange a Slami team for the three martyrs Gurdeep Singh, Hardeep Singh and Joginder Singh,s program, terming it a shameful act. People urged GOC Rajouri & Northern Commander Sahib and defence minister Raj Nath Singh for give a directions to investigate the matter and take appropriate action & fulfill their basis needs.
Singh said the three martyrs of this area have laid down their lives during Kargil war which include Gurdeep Singh of village Kanara, who was martyred on July 6, 1999; Hardeep Singh of Rajpur Bhata was martyred on July 7, 1999 and Joginder Singh of Qila Darhal on July 25, 1999 during Kargil war, 527 brave souls laid down their lives for our country.
While the family of martyr Joginder Singh, including his family members mother Raj Kour, wife Charan Kour, and brothers Prem Singh and captain Ravinder Singh, Mohan Singh, social worker Harbaksh Singh expressed their pride in his bravery and sacrifice for the motherland, they also expressed their desire for better facilities and attention to be provided to the martyr’s hamlet.
The locals have requested the renaming of villages in the area after the martyrs as a tribute to their sacrifice.
Meanwhile Additional Deputy Commissioner ADC Nowshera Pritam Lal Thappa, tehsildar Qila Darhal Jagir Hussain, BDO Qila Darhal were also presented & no any political leaders came in this important programme.
