Another Suicide Attempt at Telangana Hostel
: BRSV’s Mir Qurram Ali Slams Govt’s Silence, Demands Urgent Action
Mancherial, Telangana – In yet another disturbing incident, a Class IX student from Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) in Naspur mandal of Mancherial district reportedly attempted suicide on Monday by jumping off the hostel building. She sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment.
This marks the third such incident in the district in recent months, after two girl students from a local degree college died by suicide under distressing hostel conditions.
Reacting sharply, BRSV GHMC Coordinator Mir Qurram Ali condemned the state government’s inaction, questioning why no Education Minister has been appointed even months after taking office.
“How many more students will suffer before the government wakes up? There is zero accountability. Student safety is in crisis and this government is watching silently,” said Qurram Ali.
BRSV demanded immediate intervention to improve hostel conditions, mental health support in residential schools, and accountability from education authorities.
The repeated tragedies have triggered anger and fear among parents and student communities, with growing demands for systemic reforms.
