Malda Division takes strong steps in digital ticket booking, promotes digital payment system through QR code for passengers
Malda Division has taken a commendable step to strengthen the digital infrastructure of the railways and make passenger services easier, faster and more transparent. Under the leadership of Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Shri Manish Kumar Gupta, Malda Division has taken an initiative to popularize the digital payment system by scanning QR codes through UTS Mobile App.As part of this initiative, an awareness campaign was conducted at Malda Town Railway Station on Monday . Railway employees and members of Scout and Guide Team actively participated in this program. They showed the passengers how to buy tickets through UPI by scanning the QR code.Passengers are informed that this digital payment facility is available not only for Jatra tickets but also for platform tickets. This step will reduce the dependence on cash transactions, reduce crowding at counters and provide a simple and transparent ticketing experience.This initiative is an important step towards modernisation and technology-enabled services of Indian Railways.Similar awareness programmes will be conducted at other major stations of Malda division in the coming days.
