Malda Mangoes have been exported in UAE & Saudi Arabia

At least Malda mangoes have been exported abroad by the initiative of Malda District Administration, Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) and District Horticulture Department. Several containers of Malda mangoes left for Kolkata Airport on Saturday. From there, various varieties of Malda mangoes will be sent abroad by airplane. This consignment is for Middle East specially in Dubai of United Arab Emirates and Jedda of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In this regard a program was organized at pack house of Shristi Food Products on Saturday at Suthani More area. District President of Malda Merchant Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Mr. Ujjal Saha
,Senior Scientific Researcher of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dr. D K Raghav, Entrepreneur of Srishti Food Products ,Prasun Chitlangiya, B.J. Rajbangshi, Tuntun Saha,Member of Malda Mango Merchant Association, and others were present. Dr. D K Raghav said that this year 20 Metric Tons Mangoes will be exported in abroad. This is a initiative steps taken by APEDA in which the Mango farmers get interest to sell their products in abroad with a increasing price in international market. He also said that next year 100 Metric Tons Mangoes will be exported in abroad.
