Trinamool congress leader murdered by same party leader
Earlier this year, Trinamool district president Dulal Sarkar alias Babla was brutally murdered in Malda. As soon as the story of that incident was cut short, another Trinamool leader was murdered in Malda by a Trinamool leader! The theory of promoter mafia was behind the murder of Babla Sarkar. The name of the deceased is Abu Kalam Azad. He lives in Gopalpur village of Manikchak. The police have already arrested two people in the incident. According to sources, firearms have also been recovered from the two accused. That night, the police of English Bazaar police station recovered the body of the Trinamool leader and sent it to Malda Medical College and Hospital for autopsy. Meanwhile, the deceased's wife Shiuli Khatun @ Pakhi , Atimul Momin & Dilbar Momin were injured while trying to save the victim. They are also currently undergoing treatment at Malda Medical College Hospital. The police have started investigating the entire incident.
The deceased's family alleges that for a long time, Abu Kalam Azad had been doing land business with Mainul Sheikh, a local Trinamool member of Lakshmipur in English Bazaar. Last night, Abul Kalam Azad, along with his wife, came to Lakshmipur for a birthday party. And there, a dispute started between the two parties over the land business. It is alleged that at that time, this Trinamool leader was locked in his house and hacked to death.
It is worth noting that the name of the accused Trinamool leader is Mainul Sheikh. The accused Trinamool leader Mainul Sheikh is a member of Kazigram Gram Panchayat. This Gram Panchayat member won the last Panchayat elections for Congress, but later joined Trinamool with the help of District President Abdur Rahim Bakshi. Each of their homes is in the Gopalpur area of Manikchak.

Malda against Mainul Sk S/O Sukuruddin Sk and 06 others all of Laxmipur, PO. Maliha, Anchal. Kotwali, under English Bazar Police Station, Dist. Malda to the effect that on 10.07.2025 at about 21:00 hours police team of English Bazar Police Station taken search operation against the Accused persons. Police taken route march in the Laxmipur village.Meanwhile based on the complaint a specific case has been started main accused Mainul has been detained and raids are continued. As per information from police it happened due to previous grudge of love affair and possibly some land issues.
