*KISHTWAR POLICE ORGANIZES ‘BHAROSA’ AWARENESS PROGRAMME AT GOVT. GIRLS HR. SEC. SCHOOL KISHTWAR*

Kishtwar, July 9, 2025:

Under the directions of *SSP Kishtwar Shri Naresh Singh-JKPS,* an awareness programme was today organized by Kishtwar Police at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kishtwar under the ongoing initiative *“Bharosa”,* aimed at empowering women and spreading awareness about their legal rights and available protections.

The event was conducted by the Women Cell of District Police Kishtwar and led by a team of Lady PSIs who sensitized the students on critical issues such as domestic violence, sexual harassment, cybercrime, and dowry-related offences. The session focused on educating the participants about legal remedies, helplines, and the functioning of Women Help Desks across police stations.

During the programme, the Lady PSIs interacted with students in an open, engaging, and confidence-building environment, encouraging them to speak up against any form of abuse and to understand their rights and responsibilities. Informative pamphlets outlining key legal provisions, emergency contact numbers, and available grievance redressal mechanisms were also distributed among the attendees.

The “Bharosa” initiative reflects the unwavering commitment of Kishtwar Police towards building a safe, aware, and empowered community for women. Such programmes are being continuously organized across the district to instill confidence and a sense of security among women and girls, ensuring they feel supported by the police in every situation.
