*Malda Division’s RPF Seizes Narcotics Substances Worth ₹1.5 Crore at Khaltipur Railway Station Under “Operation NARCOS”*

Under the able guidance of *Shri Manish Kumar Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Malda*, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Malda Division continues to uphold its unwavering commitment to ensuring passenger safety and security round the clock.
Acting on a source-based tip-off and under the leadership of Shri A.K. Kullu, Divisional Security Commissioner/RPF, Malda, the RPF team of Khaltipur Post, & New Farakka, conducted a strategic raid at Khaltipur Railway Station on 28th June 2025.
During the operation, the RPF team noticed an individual behaving suspiciously at Platform No. 02. On being approached and questioned, the person grew visibly nervous and failed to provide any satisfactory explanation regarding the items in his possession.
Upon further interrogation, although he disclosed his identity, he continued to mislead the officials and could not account for the contents of his belongings.
Upon inspection, the RPF team recovered a packet containing approximately 300 gram of a suspected contraband substances valued at approximately ₹1.5 Crores. The substance was seized on the spot.
Subsequently, GRPS/Malda was informed, and an FIR was lodged. A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigation is currently underway.
This operation is a part of the ongoing “Operation NARCOS” initiative, aimed at combating narcotics smuggling through the railway network. This successful operation underscores the RPF’s vigilance and proactive approach under the Malda Division’s ongoing efforts to ensure a safe and secure railway environment for all passengers.
