National Drama School Workshop Ends.



Damanjodi: The drama workshop conducted by the National Drama School at NALCO Auditorium from 18th of last month with child artists from various schools ended on 19th. The play "Bhoot City" which the child artists had practiced for a long month was performed at Muktakaash Rangamanch in Sector-1. The original Hindi play was written by Gulsan Walia, the writer, and translated into Odia by Sushant Rautraya. Surya Mohanty, a senior student of the National School of Drama and the founding director of Mukti Theatre, Bhubaneswar, was its chief director, while Rajkishore Sahu, a graduate of the National School of Drama, was its co-director. Ashok Kumar Kar, a well-known playwright from Damanjodi, was the coordinator. Ashish Kumar Senapati General Manager of NALCO Group, joined as the chief guest and inaugurated the play, while Dr. Maya Das of the National School of Drama was present as the observer. The music direction of the play was given by Shakti Prasad Mishra, while the stage decoration was done by Banchanidhi Patnaik and K Nageswar Patra. Vikas Kumar Pradhan and Ashok Kumar Sahani were the lighting designers, while Kamdev Sahu was in charge of the sound. It has been expressed in various quarters that through such workshops and drama performances, the artistic talent among children will be revealed and child artists will play a major role in reviving Indian art culture. It is reported that this is the only play from Odisha that has been selected to participate in the National Drama Competition to be held in Delhi in the last week of this month, according to the organizers. Students from Damanjodi and surrounding villages such as Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Delhi Public School, Alumina High School for Girls, Litiguda and Arvind High School, Vejaput participated in this workshop.
