Darjeeling Police Seize Over 1,000 Drug Capsules Near Jorethang, Arrest Suspect

Darjeeling, May 31:
In a significant operation, the Singla police outpost under Pulbazar police station, with the support of Darjeeling Police, seized a large quantity of drugs today near Rammam Bridge, close to Jorethang, Sikkim.

Darjeeling Police have been working tirelessly to eradicate drug trafficking in the region. As part of these efforts, officers from Singla Police Outpost conducted a raid that resulted in the seizure of illegal substances and the arrest of one individual under the NDPS Act.

According to sources, police detained a 36-year-old man named Yasaiya Subba, son of Chandra Prakash Subba, a resident of Gairigaon, Jorethang, Sikkim. He was apprehended at Rammam Bridge, Singla Naka, while carrying 1,050 blue-colored Proximec Spas capsules, suspected to be contraband drugs. The suspect was reportedly traveling from Singla bazar with the intention of delivering the drugs to Jorethang, Sikkim.

The seizure was carried out following proper NDPS protocols, and the individual was arrested after being informed of the grounds for his detention. A case has been registered at Pulbazar Police Station.
