
Shramdaan Drive Organized at Jamalpur and Malda Town Stations under World Environment Day-2025 Campaign
The Theme is - "End Plastic Pollution.”
As part of the ongoing campaign to commemorate World Environment Day-2025, Eastern Railway’s Malda Division organized a special Shramdaan Abhiyan on Saturday at Jamalpur Station and in the Railway Colonies of Malda Town Station, in alignment with this year’s global theme mentioned above. Meanwhile the Street Drama also conducted by Malda Division at Malda Town Railway Station for awareness the passengers.
This initiative was conducted under the guidance of Shri Manish Kumar Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager, Malda, and is part of a series of impactful programmes undertaken by the Division to raise environmental awareness among staff and passengers.
Railway officers, staff members, and housekeeping personnel actively participated in the drive, carrying out extensive cleanliness activities across the premises of Jamalpur Station and in the Railway Colonies of Malda Town. Special emphasis was placed on identifying and properly disposing of plastic waste, while also promoting awareness about the harmful effects of single-use plastics to encourage lasting behavioural change.
Passengers, stakeholders, and residents of railway colonies are earnestly urged to support these initiatives by keeping railway premises clean and avoiding the use of single-use plastics. Collective action and responsible practices are key to building a cleaner, greener, and healthier future for all.
