Son Following in His Father’s Footsteps

Last week, Farhan Pasha, a young man originally from Hassan, tragically passed away in an accident in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. The news quickly spread across all WhatsApp groups in Hassan. Repatriating the body of someone who dies abroad is never an easy task. According to the local laws, all necessary documentation must be submitted before the deceased’s body can be handed over.

In such a difficult situation, upon hearing the news, Afan Ashu—the son of renowned social worker from Hassan, Ashu Asif—who is currently in Saudi Arabia with his uncle, along with his friend Afrid, immediately took action. They contacted friends from Hassan and Chikmagalur and informed the well-known Malnad Gulf Association. Afan Ashu took the lead, overcoming all legal and bureaucratic hurdles by submitting his own documents and fingerprint identification. With their collective effort, they ensured that the mortal remains of Farhan Pasha were sent back to his family in India.

Even while abroad, Afan Ashu is walking the path of social service paved by his father, Ashu Asif. The citizens of Hassan extend their heartfelt gratitude to him. 🙏
