No Sulabh Toilet in Anumasamudrampeta — Residents Living in Undignified Conditions

Anumasamudrampeta village in Rahamatabad mandal of Nellore Dist. remains severely lacking in basic infrastructure, with not a single Sulabh toilet complex available for public use. This absence of even one proper public toilet facility is causing significant hardship and affecting the dignity and health of the villagers.

Women, elderly people, and children are forced to relieve themselves behind fields and trees due to the non-availability of toilets. This situation is not only undignified but also poses a serious safety risk, especially for women who face fear and discomfort, particularly at night. Such conditions run contrary to the objectives of the Swachh Bharat (Clean India) Mission.

Despite repeated appeals by the villagers to Panchayat officials, Mandal development authorities, and local representatives, no concrete action has been taken to address this pressing need. Health experts warn that the lack of sanitation facilities is leading to unhygienic conditions, increasing the risk of waterborne diseases and other health problems.

While Sulabh complexes have been successfully implemented across many towns in India, the failure to provide these essential amenities in Anumasamudrampeta is deeply disappointing. The community feels neglected, with little regard given to the basic rights of the poor and working-class residents.

The residents are now urging the District Collector and Sanitation Department to immediately construct at least two Sulabh toilet complexes — one near the bus stand and another near the weekly market area. They have repeatedly highlighted this demand but have yet to see any visible progress.
