Heavy rains will continue in the Kerala state from today. Orange and yellow alerts have been declared.

Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur. Orange alert in Kasaragod districts. Yellow alert has also been announced in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram districts. The warning of very heavy rain was issued as a low pressure area in the Arabian Sea strengthened ahead of the monsoon. The Meteorological Department is predicting the possibility of rain with thunderstorms after noon for five days.
