Drama workshop inagurated at Damanjodi.





A drama workshop has been inaugurated by National School of Drama at Damanjodi, an industrial town in Koraput district, Ne
The workshop will run from May 19 to June 18. Indian Oil Corporation Limited is the sponsor while NALCO is providing all the necessary logistical support. This morning, General Manager of Human Resources and Administration, NALCO Sugato Anando Basu was the chief guest and inaugurated the workshop. The workshop will be conducted by trainers Surya Mohanty, Rajkishore Sahu and Shri Ashok Kar appointed by the National School of Drama. 35 students from Delhi Public School, Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Sri Aurobindo Purang Shiksha Kendra, Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir and Alumina Girls High School in Damanjodi will participate in the workshop. On the concluding day of the month-long workshop, the students will perform a play they have learned from the workshop.

It is widely believed that such an initiative in a culturally rich and tribal-populated area like Koraput can definitely contribute to the emergence of new talent and the upliftment of culture here. The inauguration ceremony was conducted by Nirmal Rout, a well-known playwright from Damanjodi.
