Urgent Need for Infrastructure Development on the Road in Sector 92, Chappar Chirri

Today, I wish to address a pressing infrastructural concern affecting the residents of Chapper Chirri in Sector 92, a village situated near several key establishments, including three prominent educational institutions—DPS Mohali, Guru Nanak School, and a primary government school. This village is connected via a crucial road that leads directly to the major IT hub at Sector 74, Phase 8B, which has witnessed significant developmental activity in recent years, with numerous buildings and commercial projects underway. However, despite the strategic importance of this road, it has been neglected for the past six to seven years, suffering from deteriorating conditions that pose challenges for commuters and residents alike. Throughout multiple changes in government and political leadership, responsibility for the maintenance and repair of this vital connecting road—stretching from Kharar Landran Road towards Sector 92—has been persistently overlooked, resulting in its continuous degradation. Even though Chapper Chirri now falls under the jurisdiction of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the local administration has not prioritized or addressed the grievances of the common people regarding this matter. Personally, I have not witnessed any efforts to repair, resurface, or reconstruct this road during this extended period, despite the fact that hundreds to thousands of vehicles, including those linked to the major Swaraj Tractors company, traverse this route daily. This situation brings into question the accountability of local governance structures, particularly the Panchayat and the Sarpanch, who have reportedly received grants earmarked for infrastructure development but have yet to undertake any meaningful road construction or maintenance activities in the last six to seven years. It is imperative that authorities take immediate, responsible action to upgrade this road to ensure safe and efficient connectivity for the residents, institutions, and businesses that depend on it.
