Mouth and jaw operations started in district hospital, relief from referral

Facility : Dr. Deepak Kharelia's team has done four successful operations so far.
Operations for lumps inside the mouth, jaw fractures in accidents or any type of injury inside or outside the mouth can now be done in the district hospital as well. This facility has started becoming available. Earlier, doctors used to refer patients to Bhopal for such operations. Now patients will not have to be referred to Bhopal and their operation can be done in the district hospital itself. Till now, four successful operations have been done by the team of Dr. Deepak Kharelia. It is worth mentioning that whenever an accident occurs, in almost 90 percent of the cases, the jaw of the injured is broken or cracked. The district hospital did not have the facility to treat and operate such cases. They were referred in special circumstances, because there was no system to join the jaws properly. Till now, only the treatment of toothache was done in the district hospital. For this, doctors used to prescribe medicines only, but now the injury of the patients can be cured through operation also.

Two surgeries were successful under anesthesia and two without anesthesia. Maxillofacial surgeon Dr. Deepak Kumar Kharelia and his team have done four successful surgeries of jaw fractures and facial bones last month. Out of these four, two were done under general anesthesia and two under local anesthesia. During these surgeries, Dr. Rakesh Saxena, Dr. Pranjal, Dr. Ravi Shrivastava, Dr. Ankit Shrivastava, Dr. Harsh, Dr. Abhinav, Madan Khurana, Sister Subhi, Neetu Kushwaha helped.

Not wearing a helmet breaks the jaw in an accident

Maxillofacial surgeon Dr. Deepak Kumar Kharelia said that in most accidents, the jaw is broken due to not wearing a helmet. In 90 percent of the cases, the jaw breaks during an accident. Earlier, operations were not done in such cases in the district hospital, but now the facility has started becoming available. For this, the patient will not have to go to Bhopal or any private hospital.

Facility started after arrival of specialist doctor

• Dr. Deepak Kharelia has come after taking special training from M.B.A. Indore. After this, this facility has started being available. So far four successful operations have been done. In the district hospital, we are gradually trying to provide facilities to the patients in every way.
