आज से लागू होगा नया UPI नियम :: Minimum balance in bank account mandatory.. New UPI rules from today

New Delhi, April 1, AIMA Media News : --- The new budget (2025-26) of the central government will come into effect from today. The new income tax slabs, exemptions, UPI rules and other rules mentioned in the budget will be implemented from April 1. In this context, financial experts say that all citizens can manage their finances better by following the rules as per the provisions.

" Income Tax Exemption "

Those with an annual income of up to Rs. 12 lakh will be exempted from the tax bracket. In this, a subsidy of Rs. 75 thousand has been provided to salaried workers. This means that they will be exempted up to Rs. 12.75 lakh.

" New Pension System "

Under the Unified Pension Scheme, employees with more than 25 years of service will get pension facility equal to the basic salary in the last 12 months of salary. 23 lakh employees of the central government will come under the scope of UPS( Unified Pension Scheme).

" Minimum balance in bank account mandatory "

According to the National Payments Corporation of India-NPCI guidelines, a minimum balance in the bank will be implemented to make UPI payments. State Bank of India (SBI) and Punjab National Bank (PNB) will revise their minimum balance rules. Penalties will be imposed if the minimum cash balance is not maintained. Several banks have also revised their credit card rewards policy.

" Inactive phone numbers will be deactivated, "

UPI linked to inactive phone numbers will be deactivated. And regardless of the phone number, customers using UPI (Unified Payments Interface) should go to their banks and update the phone numbers currently being used.

" MFA mandatory in GST "

As per the changes in GST, multi-factor authentication (MFA) will be mandatory to log in to the portal during payments. Old bills that are more than 180 days old cannot be processed using this method.
