*10 Crore 10 Lakh rupees given to Koraput Medical college on behalf of Nalco* Damanodi, 19/03: As part of the CSR programme and sustainable development commitment of the national Navratna enterprise National Aluminium Company Limited (Nalco) Rs-10 crore & 10 lakhs to V. Kirti Vasan Collector & District Magistrate, Koraput through a cheque. The Superintendent and Dean and Principal Prof. (Dr.) Sushant Kumar Sahu of Shaheed Laxman Naik Medical College and Hospital were present on the occasion. The funds provided through 'Nalco Foundation', the CSR branch of Nalco, are for the purchase of essential facilities and advanced medical equipment to improve patient care in various departments of the large medical centre. Notable Shaheed Laxman Naik Medical College and Hospital has played an important role in providing health care to the residents of the district, especially the tribal community. NALCO's financial support is expected to significantly increase the capacity of the hospital and improve the facilities required to provide better health care to the people of the entire district and the NALCO contiguous region. It is particularly noteworthy that Nalco Company has been providing various health related services in Koraput region through its CSR programme. It has been providing basic health services to more than 163 villages and adjacent villages through continuous mobile health service units in the adjacent areas of its mining and refining project in Damanjodi area. Apart from this, more than 48 villagers in Pattangi area have also been provided with these services.
