MALDA RAILWAY DIVISION SURPASSES 14.986 MILLION TON FREIGHT LOADING RECORD AHEAD OF SCHEDULE

Eastern Railway’s Malda Division has achieved yet another significant milestone by surpassing last year’s freight loading record well ahead of schedule under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager, Malda, Shri Manish Kumar Gupta. As of 3rd March 2025, the division has successfully loaded 14.986 million tonnes (MT) of freight, exceeding the 14.985 MT mark achieved in the previous financial year (2023-24). This accomplishment underscores the division’s operational efficiency, robust logistics management, and dedication to customer-centric services.

The continuous growth in freight loading reflects Malda Division’s unwavering commitment to strengthening rail infrastructure, enhancing operational excellence, and fostering stronger industrial partnerships. This milestone has been made possible due to strategic planning, optimized resource utilization, and seamless coordination among all stakeholders.

In addition to freight loading, Malda Division has also recorded a remarkable achievement in goods revenue. In the financial year 2024-25, the division’s goods revenue has reached Rs. 1006.94 crores, marking a substantial 17.10% increase compared to the previous year’s 2023-24 earnings of Rs. 859.93 crores. This record-breaking revenue generation highlights the division’s continued efforts in boosting freight operations and maximizing railway earnings.
