Pusapunei Jatra of Goddess Maa Kantabausuani and Budharaja(phutla Ranganath Budharaja) celebrated at Damanjodi, Koraput.

The 9 day long pusupurnima jatra has started today with lot of enthusiasm among the villagers of nearby villages near mother'shome village sindhipar. It is noteworthy to mention that this festival although is celebrated in every three years , this year after 21 years gap is being celebrated with some spevial and unique traditions as reported by the devotees. Many special and unique arrangements have been done by specially the youth and dedicated sebayats and believers of the Goddess. As such it is important to mention that Maa Kantabausuni is the most believed Goddess of the Koraput District and thousands of devotees visit her place everyday
. The pusapurnima jatra of this year started on 6th January 2024 . Devotees in very large numbers went in barefoot to the Maa Kantabausani Temple and zBudharaja temple about 5 kms in a large procession decorated with uniform white colour saree and dress. Special attraction was the Spiritual dance and Bhajan songs by the women devotees. As per the sacred norms all devotees after reaching the temple made special Puja and Archana for the goddess before bringing her to the birthplace. Many sacred Spiritual norms were followed by the devotees. Sankirtan mandala and ghantabadakas also decorated the Spiritual procession. A human chain was almost created in the e tire road from sindhipak village to Maa kantabausani temple situated at sector 3 of Nalco township. A large number of volunteers of the village very sincerely escorted and maintained the law and order. Damanjodi police station made elaborate Security arrangements for smooth movement of the devotees movement. Although the temple has an managing committee, a special ad-hoc committee has been formed for smooth conduct of the programme. The Spiritual event consist of two separate Spiritual yatra movement by both uncle Budhsraja and goddess (nephew) Maa Kantabausuni. Both events witnessed almost similar traditions that included starting journey from respective villages , following traditional Puja methods, bringing God and goddess from their own asthan , special Spiritual bath, continue Puja at mandapam, traditional dance and song followed by music instruments like Mahuri. Dhola etc. Special attraction was dance by young and old devotees in large numbers for 3 to four hours divided into groups wearing new clothes. While Budharaja moved to his birthplace at Damanjodivillage Nisanimunda, Maa Kantabausuni moved to Sindhipak Village. All the nearby villages and villagers have decorated their houses with Spiritual colours and Kalasa. As understood the devotees will observe fasting and offer special Puja to the goddess. Maa Kantabausuni will make round with her devotees all the four surrounding villages namely
Kantaguda,
Dumuriguda,
Gadipabuli apart from her own birthplace
Sindhipari.
