RPF OF EASTERN RAILWAY SEIZES NARCOTICS WORTH ₹2.3 CRORES UNDER "OPERATION NARCOS"

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Eastern Railway has achieved another significant milestone in its relentless fight against drug trafficking. As part of its ongoing initiative, "Operation Narcos," the RPF team of Malda Division successfully intercepted a major drug consignment on 5th January 2025.

Acting on intelligence inputs, vigilant Railway Protection Force (RPF)team including RPF/In- charge, Malda, Government Railway Police Staffs, Malda and other officers & staff conducted a special operation on Train No. 22504 DN (Vivek Express) at Malda Railway Station. During the operation, a suspect was apprehended and 461 grams of Brown Sugar (Heroin), valued of ₹2,30,50,000 was recovered. The contraband was seized, and the accused was taken into custody of Government Railway Police (GRP)for further investigation and legal action. In this connection, Government Railway Police (GRP), Malda has registered a case against the accused under NDPS (Narcotic) Act.

The Railway Protection Force (RPF)continues to conduct proactive operations under "Operation Narcos" to curb drug trafficking and uphold the integrity of the railway system. Such achievements reflect the RPF's pivotal role in contributing to national security and safeguarding the interests of railway passengers.
