MLA demands district level verification on development projects completed under various schemes In Bellaguntha and Surada Ulbs of Ganjam under Odisha

The legislator Nilamani Bisoyi has demanded an investigation into all development works carried out in Sorada Ulb and Bellaguntha Ulb under Sorda constituency in Ganjam district. The Legislator has informed the Ganjam District Collector and the Ganjam District Urban Development Agency Project Director in this regard through a letter and has written a letter to conduct the inspection in the presence of the legislator and has said that if any error is found in the investigation, the attention of the state government will be drawn to it. The legislator alleged that extensive development works were carried out in Sorada and Bellaguntha Ulb between 2021 and 2024. The Legislator said that the residents of the city have not been able to enjoy the results of the work done. The Legislator here said that after winning the elections, when he went to supervise various development works done in the above Ulb, he found that the development work done from 2021 to 2024 has violated the government rules and there were widespread irregularities found during above period. Even by bringing work in the name of women SHGs, the council representatives have succeeded in grabbing crores of rupees. Work worth about 4 to 5 crore rupees has been done in the name of women SHGs and the representatives here have looted everything by defrauding the group of 8 to 10 thousand rupees in Surada Ulb. More and more work has been created unnecessarily and rushed to satisfy the representatives here by the Ulb officials. The Legislator has complained that the projects have been evaluated at a higher price than the fixed price. Now, more than one crore rupees are yet to be received by women SHGs under the Mukta. Even they are unable to grab the supervision charges of the completed projects. There are allegations that there are widespread irregularities in development work and many of the works have been done in a low-quality manner. It is also alleged that the tender process was facilitated through two contractors to get the work done. Therefore, the Legislator has alleged that two contractors have been successful in getting the work in Sorada for 13 to 15 years. Therefore the Legislator Nilamani Bisoyi has demanded a district-level investigation into all the tender evaluation work done between 2021 and 2024, in presence of the legislator as well as the work done in other schemes. In this regard, the Ganjam District Urban Development Agency Authority has issued a letter stating that all the above works will be investigated in the presence of the legislator and the Ganjam District Collector has also been informed about it.
