Empty ground at the beginning of Khadi Mela in Malda, Chairman Krishnendu Narayan Chowdhury expresses his absence

The Malda Khadi Mela was inaugurated in a virtually empty field. It has been alleged that many people did not get invitations to the inauguration of the district-level fair organized at the field adjacent to the District Youth Office. The public representatives have blamed the lack of publicity for this. They gave the message to buy Khadi products from the Khadi Mela. The welcoming of the guests through tribal dance at the inaugural ceremony caught everyone's attention. The program began with the lighting of the lamp.

Minister Tajmul Hossain, Malda Zilla Parishad President Lipika Ghosh Barman, English Bazaar Municipal Chairman Krishnandunarayan Chowdhury and others inaugurated the Khadi Mela by lighting the lamp on Friday. This fair will continue till December 10. It will be open from 1 pm to 9 pm. This is the third time that the Khadi Mela is being held in Malda. The fair is organized by the state government's Small, Medium and Medium Enterprises and Textiles Department. Vendors from different parts of the district and state participated in this fair with 107 stalls selling Khadi cloth, handmade items and food items. On this day, Minister Tajmul Hossain said, 'We have been using Khadi since the time of our ancestors. Now vendors have come to this fair with more advanced types of Khadi cloth. I hope that this fair will be more lively than the fairs of the past and the sales will be more.'

Meanwhile, the Chairman of English Bazar Municipality , Krishnandunarayan Chowdhury himself has spoken out about the absence. He said, 'A district-level fair is being held. All the people of the city and village should know about this. But unfortunately, although this fair was held in our municipality, none of the councilors received an invitation. Even the councilor under whom this field is located does not know about the matter. This is not desirable. There should have been widespread publicity through the media, miking, and social media. If there is no participation of members of the Swayamsevak Sangh, entrepreneurs of the district associated with Khadi and especially the common people, then what is the point of holding the fair?' The same was said by the Zilla Parishad President Lipika Barman Ghosh. She blamed the lack of publicity for the empty field today. MLA Savitri Mitra, Executive Director of the Zilla Parishad's Small Industries Standing Committee Regina Murmu, among others, spoke wishing for the success of the Khadi Fair.
