Tragic Toll of 42 Deaths in Telangana Gurukulas in 11 Months: A Stark Wake Up Call for Government Negligence
BRSV Blasts Congress Government Over Inaction
Hyderabad| WUT–
The tragic deaths of 42 students in Telangana's Gurukulas (residential schools for marginalized communities) have sparked widespread outrage and exposed the government's shocking failure to protect vulnerable children. The state government, under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has been accused of turning a blind eye to the systemic neglect that has claimed these young lives.
Over the past 11 months, a series of student deaths—including suicides, food poisoning, and medical emergencies—has raised alarms. Yet, despite these devastating losses, the government has remained disturbingly silent. One of the most heartbreaking incidents occurred at the BC Girls Gurukula School in Sangareddy, where a student tragically took her own life, following a troubling pattern of similar incidents.
The crisis extends beyond individual schools. In Wankidi, a student has been on a ventilator for 17 days after suspected food poisoning at her Gurukula. These incidents, combined with the recent death of a student at Basara IIIIT, have brought attention to the state’s ongoing failures in student care and institutional management.
But perhaps the most vocal critic has been **Qurram Ali**, the Coordinator of the BRSV (BRS Students’ Wing). He has strongly condemned the Congress-led government's inaction and called for immediate accountability. “Congress has failed to protect these students. They failed to save lives and futures. Where is Rahul Gandhi in all this? Has he taken responsibility for the deaths of 24 students due to food poisoning alone?” Ali demanded, pointing directly to the government’s negligence.
Ali’s passionate outcry underscores the growing frustration among the public. The BRSV has accused the government of systemic failure, from poor food quality to a lack of adequate medical care and emotional support for students. The once-pioneering Gurukula system is now in rapid decline, leaving many questioning the administration’s commitment to the welfare of its children.
As the state grapples with this crisis, the call for action has never been louder. Qurram Ali and the BRSV are demanding immediate reforms to ensure the safety and well-being of every student in Telangana’s Gurukulas. "It’s time for the government to act before more lives are lost," Ali said, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.
The question remains: will the government wake up to the harsh reality and take the necessary steps to prevent further tragedies? The clock is ticking.
