Synergetic Green Warriors Foundation Celebrates Children’s Day with Interactive Activities and Plantation Drive at Chowki Chora

The Synergetic Green Warriors Foundation (SGWF) celebrated Children’s Day at St. Joseph’s Convent School, Chowki Chora in collaboration with Government Primary School, Ladheri, bringing together students, parents, and staff in a meaningful celebration that emphasized both fun and environmental responsibility. The day’s festivities included a variety of interactive competitions—drawing and painting, sack races, spoon and lemon races, fancy dress competition and debate competitions—allowing students from various classes to engage creatively while honoring the spirit of Children’s Day.
In a highlight of the event, the schools organized a large-scale plantation drive, reinforcing SGWF’s commitment to environmental conservation. Students, teachers, and parents participated actively in planting saplings, symbolizing a shared responsibility to protect and nurture the planet for future generations.
Dr. Sonia Verma, Director/CEO of SGWF, spoke to the attendees about the significance of Children’s Day, commemorating the contributions and dreams of children as vital members of society. She emphasized SGWF’s commitment to promoting sustainable practices, particularly through plantation drives, which aim to instill a lifelong appreciation for the environment in young minds. “Our mission is to inspire the next generation to become environmental stewards, and what better way than Children’s Day to plant seeds—both literally and figuratively—that will benefit their future,” she stated.
Reeta Verma, National President of SGWF, addressed the gathering, sharing insights into the ‘Adopt a Tree’ campaign and its achievements thus far. She highlighted how the campaign has brought communities together across different regions to care for thousands of trees, aiming to create a lasting impact on environmental conservation. “With initiatives like Adopt a Tree, we encourage families to make planting and caring for trees a cherished tradition. Today’s children are tomorrow’s custodians of the environment, and engaging them now is key to creating a sustainable future,” she added.
Makhani Devi, General Secretary of SGWF, motivated students and parents to actively participate in plantation drives and explained their importance in safeguarding the environment. She thanked all attendees, including the dedicated SGWF team and the schools' staff, for making the event a success. “It’s heartwarming to see such enthusiasm among young students for nature. Together, we can create a greener, healthier world for these children to inherit,” she remarked.
The Children’s Day celebration also included a rally through the main bazaar in Chowki Chora, where students proudly carried banners and messages advocating for environmental protection. Their rally spread awareness among the local community, reminding everyone of the importance of preserving nature and promoting a green and sustainable lifestyle.
