BRSV Leaders File Complaint Against Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Over "Defamatory" Remarks Against KCR Complaint Submitted to ACP Mir Chowk, Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Telangana – November 9, 2024 – A storm of political controversy has engulfed Telangana after leaders of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Student Wing filed a formal complaint against Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for his recent "defamatory" and "unparliamentary" remarks directed at K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR), the BRS president and former Chief Minister of Telangana. The complaint, lodged with the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) at Mir Chowk, accuses Reddy of making provocative statements that have insulted KCR and incited social unrest.

The complaint was spearheaded by Mir Qurram Ali, the BRSV Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Coordinator, and is backed by prominent BRS youth leaders, including Faisal Khan and M. Sai Teja Rao. According to the complainants, the statements made by Revanth Reddy during a public address on November 8, 2024, were inflammatory and designed to provoke division, violence, and communal tensions in the state.

The Controversial Speech
In his remarks, Revanth Reddy allegedly stated: "Today's padayatra is just a trailer – the real journey is yet to come. I'll have our Komatireddy Venkanna ride a bulldozer, and our MLA Samuel wave the flag. If three months in jail brought you grief, why don’t the lives of Musi's people matter to you? Musi will be revived, and KCR will die a dog's death if he opposes it."

These comments have raised alarm among BRS leaders, who believe that such language not only insults KCR but also undermines the legacy of Telangana’s statehood movement. The remarks, which contain threats and personal insults, are seen as crossing the line of acceptable political discourse for someone holding the office of Chief Minister.

BRS Leaders Speak Out
Mir Qurram Ali, leading the charge on behalf of the complainants, condemned Revanth Reddy’s language as "unbecoming" of a leader in high office. Speaking to reporters after submitting the complaint, Ali stated: "We cannot tolerate such inflammatory language or threats, especially when they are directed towards our leader, the first Chief Minister of Telangana, K. Chandrashekhar Rao. KCR is the architect of Telangana’s statehood and a symbol of our pride and struggle. Such remarks are not only an insult to him but to the people of Telangana who hold him in the highest regard."

Ali further criticized Revanth Reddy for using the platform of Chief Minister to engage in personal attacks instead of focusing on governance and development. "KCR’s leadership and legacy cannot be undermined by the cheap political tactics of Revanth Reddy," Ali emphasized.

Faisal Khan, another BRSV leader, warned that Revanth Reddy’s speech could lead to further divisions within the state.
