SRINGERI VIDYASHANKARA SUN TEMPLE
The Twelve Rashi Pillars of Sringeri Vidyāśaṅkara Temple are illuminated by the seasonal Sun in the order of the Zodiac symbols carved on them, according to Sthaḷa Purāṇa (Local Legends).
A comprehensive Astronomical study reveals that the Pillar illumination sequence follows the Tropical Calendar (Saṃpātika Saura māna Paṃcāṃga) of Yajur Veda.
