District Magistrate issues various orders in view of panchayat elections

Jalandhar, (vinayak) In order to maintain law and order during the Panchayat elections-2024 and to create a conducive atmosphere for free and fair voting, District Magistrate Dr. Various orders have been issued by Himanshu Agarwal under Section 163 of the Indian Code of Civil Protection (BNNS), 2023.

According to the orders issued, the District Magistrate has banned the public meeting of more than five persons in the jurisdiction of district Jalandhar where panchayat elections are being held for a period of 48 hours i.e. from 4:00 pm on 13-10-2024 till the conclusion of polling on 15-10-2024.

The order also said that door-to-door campaigning will not be prohibited from door-to-door campaigning with a group of four persons within 48 hours.

The orders also said that all political leaders, functionaries or party workers, who are not registered voters of the respective constituency, will have to vacate the constituency within this period i.e. from 4 pm on October 13 till the conclusion of polling on October 15.

The order will remain in force from 4 pm on October 13 till the conclusion of polling on October 15, 2024.
