Street Play Performed by the Red Ribbon Club of Borholla College, Jorhat as a part of the two months Intensified IEC Campaign by the Assam State AIDS Control Society.
JORHAT: The Red Ribbon Club of Borholla College in association with NSS Unit of the College performed a street play at the prime locations of Borholla area with the theme of awareness on HIV /AIDS and STI among the students on 29th and 30th September, 2024. The whole play was designed by the Nodal Officer of the RRC with the script composed by Sri Nabajyoti Neog a student of Fifth Semester Classes of the institution. The street play was enacted by the students and members of the Red Ribbon Club with active cooperation from the NSS Unit. According to Mr. Amal Sonowal, Assistant Professor in English and Nodal Officer of RRC cum Program Officer, NSS the program was a part of the two -month Intensified IEC Campaign launched by National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) on August 12, 2024 on the occasion of International Youth Day. The objective of the campaign is to enhance knowledge and understanding of HIV & STI including promote safe practices and reduce stigma by creating demand for HIV/STI services among the students and youths. The Assam State AIDS Control Society provided all the necessary instructions and financial assistance for the successful performance of the awareness campaign. The general public who witnessed the street play in several locations appreciated the initiative of the Assam State AIDS Control Society and the RRC of the institution.
