Today's WebDesk: Kolkata Metro to introduce 'No Booking Counter Stations' on Purple and Orange lines from August 1 This system is being introduced in Kolkata Metro as part of a pilot project. It is known that this system is currently being implemented at Taratala, Shakherbazar and Kabi Sukant stations of the Purple Line and Orange Line.
As the number of passengers at these stations is very low, the Metrorail authorities have decided to make these three stations 'no booking counter stations' from August 1. No booking counters will be open for token, new smart card or smart card recharge at these stations from August onwards. Passengers have to buy tokens, smart cards and paper QR based tickets from smart card recharge machines.
Smart cards can be recharged from these machines.
