Kannada TV icon Aparna Vastarey succumbs to cancer at 57

Aparna Vastarey Passes Away: Aparna, a revered figure in the Kannada entertainment industry, has tragically succumbed to lung cancer at the age of 57. She breathed her last at her residence in Banashankari, Bengaluru, after bravely battling the disease for two years. The heartbreaking news was shared by her husband, Nagaraj Vastarey, through a video on social media, revealing that Aparna was in the fourth stage of cancer.
Aparna's illustrious career spanned decades, beginning with her memorable debut in the 1984 film 'Masanada Hoovu,' directed by the legendary Puttanna Kanagal. She quickly rose to prominence as a versatile actress, appearing in numerous films, including the popular 'Inspector Vikram' alongside Shiva Rajkumar. Her transition from acting to anchoring in the 1990s marked a significant milestone in her professional journey.
Renowned for her charismatic presence, Aparna became a beloved anchor on various television programmes, notably on Chandana TV, where she garnered a dedicated following.
