MALDA RAILWAY DIVISION IS ALL SET FOR MAINTAINING SMOOTH SERVICES IN MONSOON SEASON

Malda Railway Division under Eastern Railway has implemented extensive measures to ensure uninterrupted services during this year's monsoon season. This includes the deployment of necessary materials, logistics, and additional manpower at strategic locations.

As part of the monsoon preparedness, Malda Railway Division has undertaken the following actions:

All Limited Height Subways (LHS), new bridges, and locations prone to water logging have been equipped with pumping arrangements and dedicated manpower for Water Logging Mitigation

Continuous Regular monitoring of key vulnerable locations has been established. Static patrolmen have been deployed to ensure ongoing safety and monitoring.

Monsoon reserve materials, including stone boulders, stone dust, Sal Ballah, rail piles, sand-filled gunny bags, and relieving girders, are kept ready at suitable locations as Material Readiness.

Continuous patrols have been initiated at all vulnerable locations to ensure safety and monitor conditions.

All track drains within the division have been cleaned.

Over 800 trees along the trackside have been trimmed or cut for safety purposes.



The Malda Division's comprehensive preparations aim to handle the challenges of the monsoon season effectively. By focusing on resource allocation, safety measures, and continuous monitoring, this proactive approach is designed to mitigate the impact of heavy rains on railway infrastructure, ensuring safe and uninterrupted rail services.
