
International Day of Yoga in AIIMS Kalyani – 2024
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Kalyani marked the 10th International Day of Yoga with a series of well-attended and impactful events on June 21, 2024. The celebrations, organized by the Yoga unit in collaboration with multiple departments, showcased the institute's commitment to promoting holistic health and well-being.
The day commenced with a mass performance of the Common Yoga Protocol uniting participants in a shared practice of yoga for harmony and peace. Throughout the day, scientific sessions were held, featuring presentations by Dr Deepanjan Bhattacharya on the cardiovascular benefits of yoga, Dr Jean Fredrick on exercise prescription principles, and Dr Ayan Roy on yoga's role in managing chronic metabolic diseases.
In addition to the main events on June 21st, AIIMS Kalyani conducted week-long awareness campaigns highlighting the importance of yoga and healthy lifestyles. Banners displayed in outpatient departments (OPDs) disseminated information, and the Department of Pulmonology organized a special health awareness program focusing on pranayama for stable respiratory disorders.
