The Delhi High Court has stated that allowing Chief Ministers to remain in power even after facing arrests prioritizes political interests over national interests.

The Delhi High Court criticized the city government for failing to supply books to children in MCD schools and accused them of prioritizing political interests over national interests by allowing Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to remain in power even after his arrest. The court noted that the Delhi government's focus seemed to be on consolidating power, rather than serving the needs of the students. The court's stern remarks came as the government cited the need for approvals from Kejriwal, who is currently in custody in connection with a money laundering case related to the 2021 excise policy. The court emphasized that national interest should always take precedence and indicated that it would issue an order on the matter soon. The bench, led by Acting Chief Justice Manmohan and Justice Manmeet P S Arora, expressed disappointment at the government's actions, stating that they had placed their political interests above the well-being of the students, which they deemed unacceptable and highlighted as a significant issue in the case.
