Cybersecurity expert gets 3 years for Rs 90 cr cryptocurrency theft

Shakeeb Ahmed, a cybersecurity expert, has been sentenced to three years in prison for stealing an estimated $12 million (Rs 90 crore) in digital currency, the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York announced Friday. Ahmed breached the security of two cryptocurrency exchanges and was described by authorities as "a senior security engineer for an international technology company."
