Kolkata : Tagore Songs on Sarod is an unique idea of the President of India's Gold medal awardee, Sri Debanjan Bhattacharjee, besides his presence in the instrumental classical music arena.
The uniqueness lies in the core of this project, where Tagore numbers have been played on the Sarod maintaining true Tagorean style of presentation, and making the audience feel that the magic lute Sarod is singing.
In keeping with Debanjan's brainchild "Dhrupad Sarod" style of presentation in the classical field with Pakhawaj as the percussion instrument, he has recorded nine Tagore songs out of which eight are Dhrupadi Tagore songs and are based on nine different Talas, as well.
The presentation has been coined as "সরোদে রবি" which literally means "Tagore on Sarod".
Each song will be published from Debanjan's YouTube channel progressively. The first one being launched on 1 January 2022.
Debanjan's effort has been lauded by renowned artistes like Sri Srikanta Acharya, Smt Chandrabali Rudra Dutta, Sri Biplab Mondal & Sri Subrata Mukherjee.
