5 June 2026, Kolkata: In a spectacle befitting Bengal's most unconventional detective, hoichoi Studios officially unveiled the star-studded cast for their highly anticipated upcoming film, The Eken: Kerala-e Kurukshetra. The grand announcement was made through an immersive and theatrical reveal event that perfectly blended mystery, culture, and intrigue in true Eken Babu style.
​A Star-Studded Ensemble
​The upcoming cinematic venture will see Anirban Chakrabarti reprise his iconic role as the beloved detective, Eken Babu. He will be joined by franchise regulars Suhotra Mukhopadhyay as Bapi and Somak Ghosh as Pramatha.
​Expanding the Eken universe, this installment introduces a powerhouse of new talent to the ensemble, including:

​A Masked Reveal Inspired by Kerala
​The centerpiece of the launch event was a unique, theatrical cast reveal. Members of the star cast appeared on stage wearing specially crafted face masks inspired by Kerala's rich classical art forms and cultural heritage. As anticipation built across the room, the masks were removed one by one, dramatically revealing the actors and offering the audience their first official glimpse into the world of The Eken: Kerala-e Kurukshetra.
​The event was graced by Anirban Chakrabarti, Ritwick Chakraborty, Raima Sen, Suhotra Mukhopadhyay, Subrat Dutta, Arna Mukhopadhyay, and director Joydeep Mukherjee.
​Behind the Scenes
​The film is directed by Joydeep Mukherjee, based on a story by the Late Sujan Dasgupta, and written by Padmanabha Dasgupta.
​Set against the lush and visually stunning backdrop of Kerala, the narrative promises to combine mystery, suspense, action, adventure, and humor. This time, Eken Babu will find himself drawn into a high-stakes investigation unlike anything he has encountered before.

​Director Joydeep Mukherjee added that the team wanted the reveal event itself to reflect the mysterious, engaging, and entertaining spirit of the film. "Kerala plays a very important role in the narrative... While the film retains the humour and warmth associated with Eken Babu, it also expands the scale of the franchise significantly," Mukherjee stated.
​Release Timeline
​The Eken: Kerala-e Kurukshetra is scheduled to go on floors in August 2026, with extensive shooting planned across various locations in Kerala. The film is slated for a grand theatrical release during Durga Puja 2026.
