Delhi Malviya Nagar Hotel Fire Claims 21 Lives
Delhi Malviya Nagar: A devastating fire broke out on June 3 in a hotel/restaurant building around 8:50 AM, resulting in the deaths of 21 people by June 4. Several individuals were injured, and more than 40 people were rescued from the blaze.
The majority of the deceased were those who had come to Delhi for medical treatment, with reports indicating that most victims were foreign nationals. The injured were admitted to AIIMS Trauma Centre and other hospitals. The hotel owner has been taken into custody as fire safety regulation investigations continue. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced ex-gratia payments for the families of the deceased. This incident is considered one of Delhi's most severe fire disasters in recent years, with the exact cause of the fire still under investigation.
