Committee approves 35 cases for Bank sponsorship
Urges unemployed educated youth to avail benefits of government schemes for self-employment, livelihood generation
Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Minga Sherpa chaired a meeting of the District Level Task Force Committee meeting under the Jammu & Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Programme.
A total of 39 applications were placed before the Committee for consideration. After detailed scrutiny, 35 applications were approved for sponsorship to banks for further processing and financial assistance.
The DC emphasized the need to bring more unemployed educated youth of the district under the ambit of government-sponsored self-employment schemes to maximize employment generation. He urged bankers to ensure speedy disbursement of sanctioned cases so that aspiring entrepreneurs can establish their units without delay and create sustainable employment opportunities.
Highlighting the importance of self-reliance, the DC encouraged unemployed educated youth to come forward and avail themselves of the benefits offered under the flagship government schemes to earn their livelihood with dignity and honour, while also contributing to employment generation in the district.
The DC also directed the concerned departments to intensify awareness activities regarding the government-sponsored schemes. He stressed the need to organize awareness camps in both rural and urban areas so that aspiring entrepreneurs and unemployed youth are adequately informed about the available schemes, their benefits and the procedures for availing assistance.
