प्रख्यात लेखक प्रोफेसर मो. ज़ाहिदुल हक ने खुदा बख्श लाइब्रेरी के स्थायी निदेशक का पद ग्रहण किया भारत सरकार ने पहली बार यह जिम्मेदारी उर्दू भाषा और साहित्य के एक विशेषज्ञ को सौंपी है।
पटनाः 01.06.2026- प्रोफेसर मोहम्मद ज़ाहिदुल हक शैक्षणिक और साहित्यिक दुनिया की एक मशहूर हस्ती और जाने-माने स्कॉलर हैं। उन्होंने शिक्षा, संस्कृति और उर्दू भाषा एवं साहित्य के क्षेत्र में उल्लेखनीय योगदान दिया है। अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम यूनिवर्सिटी और जवाहरलाल नेहरू यूनिवर्सिटी से शिक्षा ग्रहण करने के बाद अपना शैक्षणिक सफ़र उर्दू विभाग, दिल्ली यूनिवर्सिटी से शुरू किया ।
फिर कलकत्ता यूनिवर्सिटी के शिबपुर दीनोबुन्धु कॉलेज से कुछ समय के लिए जुड़े रहे और इसके बाद बाजाब्ता यूनिवर्सिटी ऑफ़ हैदराबाद से जुड़ गए जहां तरक्की करते हुए प्रोफ़ेसर के पद से सम्मानित किए गए। वहाँ, उन्होंने उर्दू भाषा एवं साहित्य और शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में विविध योगदान दिया। उर्दू साहित्य की दुनिया में आपकी पहचान एक अलग शैली के कवि के अलावा आलोचक एवं शोधकर्ता की भी है। इनामुल्लाह खान यकीनः अहद और शायरी, बिसाते नक्दः तंकीदी मजामीन और अठारवीं सदी में उर्दू गजल का फिक्री निजाम आपकी बहुमूल्य रचनाएं हैं।, जिनकी सराहना प्रोफेसर मुहम्मद हसन, प्रोफेसर वहाब अशरफी, प्रोफेसर इर्तज़ा करीम, प्रोफेसर ग़ज़नफ़र अली और प्रोफेसर सफ़दर इमाम कादरी जैसे साहित्य के विद्वान ने की है। उनके सौ से अधिक शोध लेख प्रामाणिक जर्नल में छप चुके हैं, विद्वानों ने उनकी सराहना भी की है। उनकी बहुमुखी सेवाओं से प्रभावित होकर, केंद्रीय संस्कृति मंत्रालय ने उन्हें खुदा बख्श लाइब्रेरी जैसी विश्वविख्यात संस्था के निदेशक की ज़िम्मेदारी सौंपी है। आज दिनांक, 1 जून, 2026 को उन्होंने खुदा बख्श लाइब्रेरी के निदेशक का पद ग्रहण किया। खुदा बख्श लाइब्रेरी अपनी दुर्लभ पाण्डुलिपियों और पुरानी किताबों की वजह से दुनिया में एक खास जगह रखती है। लंबे समय से इस लाइब्रेरी को एक निस्वार्थ और ईमानदार बुद्धिजीवी की तलाश थी, आज यह तलाश पूरी हुई है और प्रो. मोहम्मद ज़ाहिदुल हक के रुप में यह तलाश पूरी हुई। निदेशक का पदभार संभालने के बाद उन्होंनो लाइब्रेरी का निरीक्षण किया और हर सेक्शन के इंचार्ज से उनके काम से संबंधित जानकारी ली। चूंकि वे खुद शोध, शिक्षण और लेखन और संकलन से गहरी रूचि रखते हैं, इसलिए यह आशा की जाती है कि इनके दौर में लाइब्रेरी और अधिक तरक्की करेगी। खुदा बख्श लाइब्रेरी के पूर्व डायरेक्टर-इन-चार्ज और नव नालंदा महाविहार के वाइस चांसलर प्रो. सिद्धार्थ सिंह ने चार्ज देते हुए मौजूदा डायरेक्टर को अपनी शुभकामनाएं दीं।
खुदा बख्श पुस्तकालय के निदेशक के रूप में प्रोफेसर मो. जाहिदुल हक के अजीमाबाद आगमन को शुभ बताते हुए, उर्दू भाषा से जुड़े शिक्षकों, छात्रों और विशेषज्ञों ने अपनी शुभकामनाएं व्यक्त की हैं। उन्होंने आशा जताई है कि प्रोफेसर मो. जाहिदुल हक के सक्रिय नेतृत्व में पुस्तकालय का विकास होगा।

Patna: June 1, 2026 – Professor Mohammad Zahidul Haque is a renowned literary figure and a distinguished scholar in the academic and literary spheres. He has made significant contributions to the fields of education, culture, and Urdu language and literature. After completing his education at Aligarh Muslim University and Jawaharlal Nehru University, he began his academic journey with the Department of Urdu at the University of Delhi. Subsequently, he was briefly associated with Shibpur Dinobundhoo College at the University of Calcutta, following which he formally joined the University of Hyderabad, where he rose through the ranks to be honored with the position of Professor. There, he made diverse contributions to the fields of Urdu language and literature, as well as education. In the realm of Urdu literature, he is recognized not only as a poet with a distinctive style but also as a critic and a researcher. *Inamullah Khan Yaqin: Ahd aur Shayari*, *Bisat-e-Naqd: Tanqidi Mazameen*, and *Atharvin Sadi mein Urdu Ghazal ka Fikri Nizam* are among his valuable publications that have garnered praise from literary luminaries such as Professor Muhammad Hasan, Professor Wahab Ashrafi, Professor Irtiza Karim, Professor Ghazanfar Ali, and Professor Safdar Imam Quadri. More than one hundred of his research articles have been published in peer-reviewed journals, earning him acclaim from the scholarly community. Impressed by his multifaceted contributions, the Union Ministry of Culture has entrusted him with the responsibility of serving as the Director of the Khuda Bakhsh Library—a world-renowned institution.
Today, June 1, 2026, he formally assumed the office of the Director of the Khuda Bakhsh Library. The Khuda Bakhsh Library holds a unique and distinguished place on the global stage, celebrated for its rare manuscripts and old books. For a considerable period, the Library had been in search of a selfless and principled intellectual to lead it; today, that quest has reached its fulfillment with the arrival of Professor Mohammad Zahidul Haque. After assuming the charge of Director, he inspected the library and sought information regarding their work from the in-charge of every section. Since he himself has a deep interest in research, teaching, writing, and compilation, it is expected that the library will make even greater strides during his tenure. Prof. Siddharth Singh, former Director-in-Charge of Khuda Bakhsh Library and Vice-Chancellor of Nav Nalanda Mahavihara, extended his best wishes to the incumbent Director while handing over the charge.
