Chaudhary Charan Singhs 39th death anniversary

Chaudhary Charan Singh’s 39th Death Anniversary: RLD J&K Pays Rich Tributes; Mohammad Anees Choudhary Demands Comprehensive Policy for Farmers and Laborers
JAMMU/SRINAGAR: On the solemn occasion of the 39th death anniversary of the former Prime Minister of India and 'Bharat Ratna' Chaudhary Charan Singh, the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) Jammu and Kashmir unit held a commemorative meet to pay rich floral tributes to the legendary leader.
Leading the tribute, RLD Jammu and Kashmir General Secretary, Mohammad Anees Choudhary, described Chaudhary Charan Singh as the ultimate "Messiah of India's peasants" whose visionary policies laid the groundwork for rural economic development. He stated that the late leader's philosophy—that the road to India’s prosperity passes through its villages and agricultural fields—remains highly relevant today.
Addressing party workers and members of the public, Mohammad Anees Choudhary highlighted that the agrarian and working-class communities form the true backbone of Jammu and Kashmir. He expressed grave concern over the current hardships faced by local farmers, daily wagers, and casual laborers across the Union Territory, emphasizing that true homage to Chaudhary Charan Singh can only be paid by actively fighting for their rights.
"Chaudhary Charan Singh ji didn’t just talk about farmers; he reformed land ownership laws and freed the rural debt-ridden workforce from exploitation," Mohammad Anees Choudhary noted. "Today, on his 39th death anniversary, RLD J&K urges the administration to step up. Our local farmers are battling unpredictable climate shifts, lack of cold-storage infrastructure, and inadequate market pricing, while our laborers are struggling for fair wages and job security."
The RLD General Secretary strongly urged the government to implement targeted agricultural subsidies, streamline crop insurance schemes, and introduce a comprehensive welfare policy for daily wagers and unorganized laborers in the region. He reiterated that the RLD, under its national leadership, stands firmly dedicated to carrying forward the legacy of Chaudhary Charan Singh by magnifying the voices of the marginalized, down-trodden, and rural masses.
The tribute meeting concluded with party members taking a collective pledge to strengthen the cooperative movement and continue their grassroots struggle for social justice, economic empowerment, and rural development in Jammu and Kashmir.
