Revanth Reddy Unveils NTR Statue in Hyderabad
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy unveiled a statue of the legendary actor and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao at Hyderabad's Maitri Vanam Junction on the occasion of his 103rd birth anniversary. Political leaders and members of the public also participated in the event.
CM Revanth Reddy stated that NTR was not merely an actor, but a powerful leader who championed the cause of the poor and the marginalized. He remarked that the foundation for welfare schemes and social justice in both Telangana and the united Andhra Pradesh was laid by leaders such as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and NTR.
In his speech, the Chief Minister noted that while Indira Gandhi empowered the poor through land reforms, NTR empowered backward communities by abolishing the "Patel-Patwari" system. Furthermore, he introduced significant reforms regarding property rights to promote women's empowerment.
Revanth Reddy asserted:
“NTR was just as important to the nation as Indira Gandhi.”
This statement has become a subject of considerable discussion within the political circles of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The event was officially organized at Hyderabad's Maitri Vanam Junction, where, during his public address, CM Revanth Reddy highlighted the welfare policies of both NTR and Indira Gandhi.
True leaders are those who introduce reforms to ensure equal rights and dignity for the weaker and poorer sections of society. Democracy is strengthened when social justice and public welfare advance hand in hand.
