Siddaramaiah Resigns As Karnataka Chief Minister! DK Shivakumar Emerges As Next CM Candidate


Bengaluru, May 28, AIMA Media Update News : A pivotal development has unfolded in Karnataka politics. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has tendered his resignation from his post. He announced his decision to step down during a breakfast meeting held today at his official residence, 'Cauvery'. However, as the Governor was unavailable today, he dispatched his resignation letter to the Governor's office, Lok Bhavan. He stated that his resignation would be formally accepted as soon as the Governor returns from Madhya Pradesh. Consequently, the path has been cleared for Deputy Chief Minister and State Congress President, DK Shivakumar, to assume office as the next Chief Minister.

Upon news of Siddaramaiah's resignation, a festive atmosphere prevailed outside DK Shivakumar's residence in Sadashivanagar, Bengaluru. His supporters and admirers gathered in large numbers to celebrate, raising slogans and distributing sweets. In response, a heavy police contingent was deployed, and security was significantly tightened around his residence. Siddaramaiah announced his decision to resign during a meeting held with his cabinet colleagues.

Siddaramaiah informed the ministers that the Congress High Command had directed him to appoint DK Shivakumar as the next Chief Minister. It is reported that Siddaramaiah became emotional while making this announcement. It is understood that Siddaramaiah told his colleagues that he is satisfied with the work he has accomplished thus far.
