Indefinite dharna from May 27 to meet various demands of Gram Panchayat employees

Bidar: The Karnataka State Gram Panchayat Employees' Union (CITU) affiliated district committee has organized an indefinite dharna in front of the Zilla Panchayat office from May 27, demanding that the various demands of the Gram Panchayat employees be met.

The office bearers of the association, who have submitted a request to the Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer in this regard, said that a request was previously made on April 7, 2026 regarding the problems of the Gram Panchayat staff. But they have alleged that no action has been taken so far.

The association stated that although objections were filed regarding the final seniority list of tax collectors for the year 2025-26, the problem has not been resolved.

Therefore, on May 27 at 9 am, clerk cum data entry operators, tax collectors, watermen, sepoys, sanitation workers and Swachh Vahini staff will participate in an indefinite sit-in in front of the Bidar Zilla Panchayat office, said the Gram Panchayat Employees Association President Jeevan Kannale and Pradhan Secretary Sangamesh in a statement.
