Village Kahar Pur Hosts Thrilling Seven-a-Side Football Tournament

The seven-a-side football tournament being organized by residents of Kahar Pur village continued today with a gripping match between Panam — the native village of Olympian footballer Jarnail Singh — and Nangal from the Mahilpur area. Panam put up a strong performance, scoring three goals, but Nangal edged them out 4-3 to claim a hard-fought victory.
Both teams displayed excellent skill and competitive spirit, drawing a large crowd of former players and local sports enthusiasts. Several prominent figures from the football community attended to encourage the players, including coaches Bandhana Singh, Darshan Singh Dhillon, Daljeet Singh Bittu, and Manjeet Singh (Panam), as well as Inspector Gurdial Singh, Harbalraj Singh Raja Langeri and Madan Lal Maddon.
At the event, well-wishers presented tournament organizer Harnadan Singh Khabra with a contribution of Rs 11,000 to support the competition. Notable attendees included farmer leader Talwinder Singh Heer Nangal Khilarian, Pandit Rakesh Kumar (Panam), Praveen Kumar Mehta, Sandeep Singh Kaindowal, Raja Kahar Pur, coach Sunny Khabra, Rimpi Khabra, Lucky Thakedar, and many former players and football fans. Their presence added to the festive atmosphere and encouraged young players to continue practicing with dedication.
