Bidar: Rashtriya Bajrang Dal Demands Action to Prevent Illegal Cow Slaughter During Bakrid

Bidar: Ahead of the Bakrid festival on May 28, the Rashtriya Bajrang Dal Bidar district unit submitted a request to Karnataka Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara via the District Collector. The request calls for immediate special action to prevent illegal cow trafficking, cow slaughter, and to maintain law and order during the festival period.

The organization expressed concerns over possible illegal transportation and slaughter of cows, buffaloes, and calves during Bakrid, despite the enforcement of the Cow Slaughter Ban and Cow Protection Act in Karnataka. The petition highlights past complaints of roadside and residential area slaughter, emphasizing that such incidents threaten law and order and hurt Hindu religious sentiments. The demand includes setting up 24-hour check posts on highways and district borders, strict vehicle inspections, verification of documents and licenses, and special instructions to police stations to take precautionary measures. Leaders present included district president Venkatesh Shali Chidri, vice president Vasanth Subhanje, general secretary Sandeep Patil, and others.
