Kerala Issues Yellow Alert for Heavy Rain in Nine Districts
Kerala: The state continues to experience rain warnings with a yellow alert declared in nine districts including Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Kannur, and Kasaragod. Authorities have indicated the possibility of isolated heavy rainfall in these areas.
Kerala, Karnataka, and Lakshadweep coasts have been placed under a fishing ban by the Central Meteorological Department due to adverse weather conditions. Strong winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour along with thunderstorms are expected. The department has urged the public to exercise caution and adhere to safety advisories amid the forecast of heavy rain and strong winds.
