Gautam Adani attends 'bhumi pujan' for Bihar eye hospital
PATNA: (May 17) Billionaire Gautam Adani was in Bihar on Sunday when he took part in the groundbreaking ceremony for an eye hospital in Saran district, where, upon completion, up to 3.3 lakh surgeries will be performed annually, and 1,000 professionals will receive training.
The Adani Group Chairman took part in "Bhumi Pujan" for the "Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital" at Mastichak, about 70 km from the state capital, to which an assistance of Rs 150 crore has been pledged by Adani Foundation, the CSR arm of the rapidly growing business conglomerate.
Adani, who was accompanied by his wife Priti, the Chairperson of the Adani Foundation, said he believed in the philosophy "seva hi sadhana hai" (service is worship) and announced a "personal commitment of Rs 500 crore" to the non profit "Akhand Jyoti Foundation", in an attempt to give a boost to "long term humanitarian and community health care mission across the country".
